My Yoga Journey
My Yoga journey started 25 years ago when I attended my first Yoga class- in a Wimbledon squash court! A good friend convinced me to join her yoga class (I was reluctant!) I loved it and was hooked right away. It was dynamic yoga practice and the hall was full of students each week. But then the teacher moved on. 25 years ago, yoga classes was not popular like today and classes were quite hard to find!
In 2000 I was working as a school teacher moonlighting as a fitness class instructor. I was hooked on Yoga and exploring what classes I could find.
When Pilates came along on the scene, I quit school teaching, did Pilates Teacher Training and taught for a while.
In 2008 while living in UAE, I found a great Yoga teacher ...this led me to Singapore where
I finally did my Yoga Teacher Training at the International Yoga Centre (IYC) with Joan Seow.
Joan was trained in both Iyengar and Shadow Yoga. As a very highly regarded instructor, in Japan and Singapore, I was very lucky to be accepted in her last Teacher course before she retired.
I spent 4 years living there and training under her guidance and completed
RYS 500 hour Yoga teacher training.
Today Im living in the UK, homeschooling my two teenagers and teaching Yoga from home..
My aim is to help others discover the benefits and possibilities the ancient art of Yoga offers.
